Heron Lodge is set in a lovely peaceful, rural location on the edge of Mabie Forest a tranquil and peaceful location surrounded by beautiful countryside, with breathtaking views of surrounding countryside and Mabie Forest.
This luxury lodge is privately owned and can accommodate 4 guests in comfort with all modern amenities for a great self catering holiday break.Heron Lodge is very well equipped and pride is taken in presenting this property in immaculate order to enable our guests to have a very comfortable stay all year round.Set in the former grounds of Cairnyard House on an uncommercialised site and located 5 miles from Dumfries town on the A711 (Dumfries and Dalbeattie Road) and 1 mile before Beeswing village and 6 miles from Dalbeattie.
Nearby there is Loch Arthur Organic Farm Shop at Beeswing village, a Floodlit Golf Driving Range, Kilnford Farm Shop and home of Robert Burns, Heritage Museum, House and Trail, on Solway Coastal Tourist Driving Route, Caerlaverock Castle, Drumlanrig Castle, Mabie Farm Park and Forest, Kippford and Rockcliffe coastal villages with local village pubs and tearooms and Sandyhills and Southerness with great beaches is just a snap shot located close by Heron Lodge.
Heron Lodge is also about 20 minutes to Annan Whiskey Distillery Tour, 30 minutes from Gretna Green and Outlet Shopping Village, 50 minutes from Penrith and 1 hour 30 minutes from Glasgow and Edinburgh ideal for some great full days outings.

7 Stanes World Famous Mountain Biking Area - Located Mabie Forest a couple of minutes drive from lodge and access can be gained through Cairnyard site for more adventurous and experienced bikers. 7 Stane tracks also located at Dalbeattie Forest and further at Ae Forest. Dumfries has numerous Golf courses, Cycle routes and numerous outdoor Events, Festivals, Garden Open Days, Farmers Markets and Shows throughout the year.
Heron Lodge can accommodate 4 people with large and spacious rooms, presented in first class order and of modern style with guest comfort and enjoyment in mind at all times ensuring a wonderful holiday break for every guest anytime of year making your stay feel just like home from home. The Kitchen is EXTENSIVELY stocked with all Crockery, Pots, Pans, cutlery, kitchen utensils and gadgets required for all self catering needs and more.
There is also a large Porch Area with Cloak Hooks, Wellington boot /shoe storage, electric meter located for Heating.
All rooms have their own individual Electric Heating Panels along with additional Electric Fire in living room and Heated Towel Rail and Fan Heater in Bathroom.
Outdoor Amenities : Beautiful breath taking views await of open countryside and Mabie Forest with Large Veranda Decking Area with Patio Table and 4 Chairs for alfresco dining, a Gas BBQ, Two Sun relaxer Chairs along with a wooden Picnic Bench Table. The Garden Area is fully Private and secured with a gate, ideal for families with small children and Dog Owners. Private Parking is at the side of lodge for a large 4X4 vehicle or two small cars accordingly. There is a Bird table and lovely Pine trees in which to feed and watch the abundant local birds and wildlife.
A large wooden sloping ramp leads up to the Lodge Porch Area and Main Access Door and once inside all rooms are on the same level and can therefore be accessed with ease for semi mobile guests.
